  • The US-based MD Anderson Cancer Center has requested that its name be removed from promotional material of the 7th International Translational Cancer Research Conference with the theme – ‘Cancer prevention and treatment: From Ancient Medicine to Modern Medicine’, which was to be hosted by insti on 8th Feb [TNIE]. The Centre, which says it was a sponsor in 2016, made the announcement on Twitter following a tweet by Ivan Oransky (co-founder, RetractionWatch – a blog that reports on retraction of scientific papers), which linked to an article that mentioned Baba Ramdev’s association with the conference and commented that the conference “raised a lot of red flags”. Following these events, Baba Ramdev pulled out of attending the conference.
