The Day 3 of the Institute Soapbox held on March 8 saw the candidates for the positions of Student General Secretary and Co-Curricular Affairs
“With the election season underway in full swing, Wednesday marked the return of the annual soapboxes, albeit with a slight variation in the format. In this new format, candidates facing a contest would battle it out against one another while unanimous candidates would be engaged in a discussion with the anchor. Questions from the Executive Council Members and the GSB would follow.”
In the this article, we present summaries of the soapboxes of the following three unanimous candidates: Saketh Shiva, Poojan Patel and Animesh Bagora contesting for the posts of AAS, IAR Secretary and CoCAS respectively. Probably because these post were being contested unanimously, the turnout was quite low. The soapboxes for unanimous candidates seemed dull in comparison with the those for the contested posts.
The third SAC meeting of the year saw the rescinding of the post of the Mess Secretary, doubling of the number of CoCAS posts, discussion of the dereliction of duty by an Institute Secretary and reports by an Anti-Tobacco Committee and a committee formalizing guidelines for Institute bodies.
