A water leak into a transformer building plunged a section of the boys’ hostels into darkness for about six hours on Wednesday evening. Initially, people screamed and cheered, but they eventually realized that they were losing precious time that could’ve been spent building robots for the Tech-Soc Robotics competition and putting Drams fight. Repair work caused another two power cuts, on Thursday and Friday. The Engineering Unit had promised to fix the problem by Friday evening.
The exact nature of the power cut on Monday morning is unknown.
